I am looking to take my wife ice fishing this weekend.
I have not ice fished Strawberry for at least a dozen years.
Would anybody mind sharing a few tips on location and tackle?
Thanks.

Location? Just about anywhere you can get access to the lake. Strawberry Bay, Chicken Creek, Ladders, Soldier Creek, Mud Creek. Some are easier to access than others. I like to use glow-in-the-dark Rat Finkies and Foxy Jigs in yellow, all tipped with a little bait like wax worms, fished very slow. Good Luck.

small pearll white tube jugs 1 1/2 in. tipped with wax worm or a bit of cut bait has worked very well for me. fish from 6 to 20 ft. of water. use two poles and you should get some action.

Would also like some info on Soldier Creek? Is it difficult to get to without a snowmobile or ATV? I'm no spring chicken anymore and it is tough to lug all the equipment up a steep hill. Thanks[crazy]

I like Strawberry marina for access, I need it pretty easy. Use a variety till you find out what mood they are in. Glow tubes both tiny and large tip with waxers on the small and sucker meat or minnows on the large. Good luck, make sure she catches one.

I assume it is legal to drive an atv on to the lake at Strawberry Bay marina?
How about at the ladders?
Thanks.

Legal but not always a good idea, watch out for pressure ridges and slush spots, I like the weed line 10 ft of water, don't need a ATV
