The last few days on the "Big-G" have been extremely up n down with with fishing. The colder weather has really had the fish moving around a lot and a little sluggish.....until today!!! The last couple of days I had trips and we tried a few different patterns from shallow areas to the deeper areas, and from using Rat-L-Traps along grass lines to trying A-rigs and Rocker Jigs along deeper ledges. These patterns all seemed to produce fish but once again the most productive for consistent quality fish was the deeper grass lines with 3/4-1 oz. Rat-L-Traps. Today we stuck to these deeper areas and found out quickly that with the cold, and I do mean "COLD" north wind blowing that the deeper grass lines was the best pattern. With the next several days staying cold this pattern should hold true as usual. Don't forget to check out the Guntersville Lake Rat-L-Trap Tournament on Feb. 8th., and with the new format of launching from any ramp on the lake should make for a great day of fishing and some very good sacks of fish brought to the scales. Have fun, Mike Carter
