Can any of you folks, that have fished the Berry recently, give me a report on the ice thickness and surface conditions? I'm thinking of going there this weekend and with the warm weater I'm hoping it is still safe. I suspect the slush monster will have raised its head with this snow and rain.
Any reports?

I was there Sunday. We walked across Strawberry Bay and fished on the other side. Just because we could really and it was nice to be the only ones around. Ice was 10-11 inches with about 2-3" of snow on top. No slush. It was 2* when we got there and 32* at 1ish when we left.
There was one spot where it looked like water on top of the ice but it had froze solid and there was sled tracks across it. It was about 100' wide, 20' deep. I went around it. Other than that it's pretty solid.
I'm ready to go back after Monday at work.

we hit the berry in sunday and couldn't ask for better ice or conditions. 2 degrees when we parked maybe 32 by the time we left 11-12 solid ice. this was at the marina and we worked from one side to the other.

Thanks guys. Well the ice thickness won't be bad but with the warm temps, snow, and possibly rain up there, the slush monster could possibly eat me alive! I still think I'll give it a try.

We are thinking of going up on Sunday, if you go sooner, please pose a report on the ice surface. I want to take my snowmobile to haws point, or at least that side of the bay. Mud creek towards the mouth is another point of interest.
