Captained the boat with my daughter in the 1st Bradley Central Bass Club tournament this year, Bradley Central fished against Walker Valley High School. Had about 12 boats turn out for the 27 degree start. Started at 8:30 and fished jerk baits and rig. Did not find any takers. I have not fished for green bass in years and was feeling a little out of my element (dang smallmouth) and a bit embarrassed that I could not put her on any fish. We fished steep rock banks, shallow flat, river ledge and long points. Nothing!!! The sun finally came out for a bit and I went old school, Grub on sunny rock bank. With about an hour left she got 2 bites. Both fish had her rod bent double but came off. Still working on her hook set. LOL could a been a catfish or whatever but in her mind they were big and green. All in all had a great day with my daughter and a lot of laughs. Winning weight for the day was 2 fish and 8 lbs, big fish was 5lbs. Next tournament is end of February, any tips would be appreciated. LOL.
