After abandoning the idea of going to strawberry then getting stuck heading up to smith and morehouse. we ended up fishing the dam at rockport. No problem walking out at 8:30 this morning. Managed one nice fish about 21 inches but no other nibbles for the group. The fun part came at noon where we basically swam back to shore. Between the wind, water coming into the reservoir and melting. The ice pulled back from shore about 12 feet in 3.5 hours. if you head out watch the shoreline they are fairly unpredictable right now.

I was going to say welcome to the site but then I noticed you have been a member for 4 yrs, so I'll just say, thanks for posting your report and thanks for the update on the ice condition at RP. It sounds like someone went for a swim, hope you all made it to shore ok.

There was only 5 or 6 inches on the road but as it warmed up it was getting real soft. I would think a 4 wheeler would go up there just fine.

Also was there at the dam with a friend, had to get across somehow. It wasn't as cold as I thought it would be, rockport is terrible fishing. Only caught 1
