I arrived at about 8 and the weather was perfect, no wind and warmer than expected, which changed into 20-30 mph wind and snow. The first place I tried was 45 ft of water and started catching some decent fish suspended in 20-30 ft. I took pictures of the first fish of each species and kept one fat bow. The fishing was non-stop until I left at 3. The biggest fish was the one I kept but I did have a huge laker on that ran my line out 150 ft twice and finally spit the hook. I was dissapointed I couldn't get him on the ice for a picture but oh well I'll catch him on another trip. I moved in later to catch some perch for dinner and couldn't keep trout off my line. I only caught one perch which was a little dissapointing for the frying pan but atleast one bit the dust. Before I left I tried some deeper water and found big schools of 14-16" bows. Tried on the bottom for a laker but no bites. I know this side isn't the best for lakers but I can always hope, right. Fish finder worked great until it froze up and so did I.

Pictures are on the IFG challege page.

I need a little bit more info on your trip. What did you use? Where were you fishing and what was the bait of choice?

I can't make it this weekend but am hoping that next weekend works out and I will be able to get up there again. Let me know if you are planning on heading that way.

Way to go on catching all those fish. Man I need to get out.

I mainly used mealworms since the perch didn't seem to want to die. I did use that one perch for bait and used that for the deeper water. Jiging was the ticket with or without a jig. I caught quite a few with just a plain hook.

The original plan was to walk to the east side but I decided against that with the expected snow. I ended up fishing near Lake side marina which was the only part that had any open water. I was going to try the south end near the marine but had to leave to baby sit my sisters kids.

Maraboujigs good to hear from you. I can't wait for my next trip. I'd love to go next weekend but my family is keeping my time on a short leash. I'll put it on the schedule though, either way we'll have to do some fishing.
