Brothers, Chris and Ryan Campbell, along with friends, Dustin, Robert, Justin and Anton chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The boys were celebrating Chris’s upcoming wedding and ended their bachelor party celebration with a fishing trip. Winds were out of the northeast at 17 mph, seas running 3-4 ft., temperatures in the mid 70’s.

On our way out, we stopped to purchase a dozen live Goggle Eyes from T&T Bait located in the inlet in Fort Lauderdale. Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in the water at our drop off, which is 120 ft. deep at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale. We started off trolling with two plainers down, one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and on the other was a pink and blue sea witch in front of a double hook Bonito strip. For surface baits we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips.

Finally I found a rip with a color change in 145 ft. of water north of Fort Lauderdale. We put up the two kites with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite and one live bait off the rigger and waited for the black shadow’s arrival. In the meantime the party continued with fireball shooters and beer chasers. The black shadow made his appearance on the left short and his twin brother made an appearance on the right short – double header hooked up!!!! Each Sailfish went in the opposite direction – a perfect Chinese fire-drill. Russ, our mate, cleared the lines and the fight started. Twenty minutes later Ryan brought his Sailfish to the side of the boat for picture taking and release and two minutes later Chris brought his Sailfish to the boat for picture taking and release. Both brothers celebrated with more shooters.
