Well, like most politicians and Presidents, Willard was pretty windy today. Was a pretty, sunny, and even warm (ish) day when the wind slowed. Glad I took TD's advice last night and didn't make the trip to UL. Of course, my luck, UL was probably calm today.......[:/]

Anyway got on the water at north marina, no changes in depths since Saturday 14th. Got out past the buoys, and...........decided it wasn't worth it this early in the season to fight the wind. Went back into the marina, was protected some, so anchored out and kicked back. Spent maybe 2-3 hours swinging at anchor about 75 yards off the launch ramp, watchin the Eagles, and drinking coffee.
There was something in the water coming at me, and I thought that nasty old Skunk was actually swimin out to get in my boat with me.......but it turned out to be what looked like a young Beaver or big Muskrat..........anyway it turned away, and I got one hungry, skinny, kitty to slurp up my worm. So dodged the skunk again (barely) and called it a morning.

I hit UL this morning. Be glad you didn't go. Got to lincoln beach around 9:30 ish and had waves rolling up on the beach with a slight breeze. Chose not to launch, good thing too for the wind picked up and white caps everywhere. Tried fishing the channel with no luck. Probably how I had it rigged up. There was another small group fishing the dock and had caught a couple of mudders. I had my daughter with me and we moved to the state park in Provo. The river was clear as a bell but still not takers. The cold front that came in shut it all down.

You did better up there at Willard.

Thanks for the report! Even though the catching was slow it looks like the fishing was great. I hope to hit Willard soon. I'd like to catch my first cat of the year soon!

Nice job getting those cats figured out, glad you're getting some tugs. J

Jeff, was hoping to take a run at Benson this Sunday, but the forecast isn't much better then than it was last Monday. Guess I'll wait and see. Get up Sunday and see what is actually happening.

Hope it will treat you better than it has me. So far I've yet to catch a fish on Cutler since the water came up. I was thinking about a Willard trip, but won't do it in wind. Hopefully it will get better soon. J

I was at the lake too that day. Drove by the ramps and saw ya fishing. Thought
Maybe you were crappie fishing. Glad to see you got some cats.
I went to the north dike and fished the rocks. Not many rocks there anymore. Mostly sand. No cats for me though. Left at 11:00.
Still a good way to spend a day off.
