Didn't have any issues getting on or off at the north end a t Joe Bush. Had snow machines out on the ice. Fishing was good. Lots of little bow, several decent splake, bucketfull of perch.

Did get a good pressure ridge over on the east side across from the bowery, though. The water was coming in pretty good at the "heave". One side of the ice was about 18 inches below the other. Formed a large pool of water.....

Thought I'd update for those going out for the weekend. Fishing was good today. Two of us caught 65 perch, 12 or so splake, and 30+ small rainbows. There are pressure ridges to be very careful of, we went around them. But they are buckling pretty good leaving open water in some spots and thin ice over others. Just watch for the ridges. Ice where we were at on the east side was 11 inches. Got on on the north end and there's probably 7-8 inches there. Went with hookinup on Monday as well and the pressure ridges were worse today than Monday. Happy fishing, be safe.

I was there most of last week with a 4-wheeler. Ice was 8" on the north end and about 12" on the south end. There were problems getting on and off the ice in places, but only due to pressure ridges. Once we found a way to go around them, no problem.

Fishing was good to downright hot at times. The north end near Joe Bush was where we had the best luck for perch in 15' of water, and good for trout fishing 15-20' down over 60' of water. Same thing for the trout near Mackinaw.

We did find a few mack pups, the largest of which was just under 3 lbs, on the east side in just over 100' of water. They were hitting in the bottom 1/3 of the water column and were actually fairly aggressive. Caught them on 2.5" tube jigs with 3/8 to 1/2 oz. jig heads tipped with perch meat. The fishing for rainbows and splake was unreal in this area fishing about 20' below the ice.

Good luck to all who venture out there. Should still be safe ice for a while, just avoid the pressure ridges.
