With the CBA coming up this weekend I really wanted to get out on the lake and take a look around. I got out about 12:30 and found only a couple commercial fishing guys were all that had made the trip out. I road around some and am happy to say I found no ice on the water. emoThumbsup Between the waves, wind and water temp being 40 to 42 on the surface it was not much of a catching trip for bass. Try as I would I could only manage four small bass none of which were keepers. All were around 13 to 14 inches. Since Drumking always says without a picture it is only a story I did take a picture of one of the baby bass I caught. emoRolleyes After feeling the waste of time and wanting a little more action then what I had found with bass I just had to go to crappie. The crappie seemed a little more interested. I boated somewhere around twenty crappie with only a couple short. emoThumbsup All were released to fight another day. Not bad no longer then I was out. Most of those came from around the 7/8 foot mark. I also caught one white and three bream. Got to stretch a line and that felt good after a two week or more time of not going but the bass are still making themselves few and far between for me. Sad

Looks like me and Derek will just be donating this weekend. Thought about skipping it but hate the idea of sitting on the side lines the first tournament this year. We can at least drive around and practice casting. emoBigSmile I say this every year and never do it but this is the time of year I wished I knew where to go north on the Chick. It seems the Grasshopper and Soddy Creek areas always do better this time of year then down this way. emoScratch That never makes sense to me considering you are going North.

Well, we look like we will be out there this weekend. Hope to see a good crowd. See ya on the water. emoAngler Jmax
