I just got my new lowrance elite 5x chirp, just wondering what other guys do about the old ones, my old one is a lowrance about ten years old but works fine,I just wanted to update. Is there any reason to leave the old finder on the boat and have two, or just replace the old one. I know some people have more than one. Thanks!!

Just a thought, I wonder if one transducer will pick up the "bings" from the other transducer? It might cause some weird interference. I would just replace it all together.

I have three on my boat. One on the back for the guy sitting in the back. One that came with the boat on the dash. And one on my trolling motor up front.. I got tired of the guy on the back asking how deep are we?. Or asking any fish showing?
Just saying.

I guess it depends on how big your boat is and how you fish. As stated a lot of folks have three. I use the main one on my dash while getting to the spot I'm planning on fishing and maybe moving around looking for fish. If I trolling , I use a different finder mounted toward the back of my boat, so I don't have to keep looking at my dash and I turn off the one on my dash. If for some reason I'm fishing in the bow of my boat, I have it set up to move the one from my dash to the bow. Of course if you just want to sell it, you could list it on our For Sale board.
