This report is for Friday and today. I got out with a gentleman Friday for some fun fishing which usually works out pretty good when there's not any pressure, yeah right!!! We struggled most of the day due to the "extreme" cold front that moved through on Thursday, but after we relaxed and just started fishing the afternoon switch turned on and the good solid fish started feeding. It was a lot of fun during a short period of time catching these fish with 3/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps. Now for today...I had an afternoon trip with a gentleman that wanted to learn a few patterns and after a short time of watching boats running all over the lake and the fish not cooperating well, we just waited for everything to calm down and for most of the boats to leave. When the traffic slowed down and everything got calm again, "Wham", the Big Mama's decided to come out and play. We stayed with the deep grass with 1 oz. Rat-L-Traps and it finally paid off with a few fish and one real good "Big-G Hawg". There is an extreme amount of floating grass on the lake now, but covering a lot of water is the key to find the areas with the least amount of floating grass to where it can fished effectively. Get out and enjoy it while it's here. Have fun, Mike Carter
