Fished Lindon Bay area today from 8AM- 3:30 PM. Was a great day to be fishing for Kitties. Caught 11 and kept 8. They were fair sized 23-27 inches. All were caught on chub meat in about 3 feet of water. Also saw this Pike caught in the bay on a motor oil colored jig. This should make the DNR happy!!!!

You going to enter any of those in the contest? I seen you had signed up... Hope you got pictures with a tape and label so they will count... 27" would start to make the south look pretty good on the team score... So far not many entries from team south, but the ones that are entered are good sized fish... Anyway hope you got the pictures, fish over 27" aren't overly plentiful... Later J

I did not intend to register these fish in the challenge thinking they would have to be much larger. Also I do not know how to size my photos as you can see from my previous post. I have caught several cats 26-28 in the last 3 weeks. Being from the southern part of the U.S. they just don't seem very big. I will start to enter them from no own.

The big cat contest is typically won with 30-32" cats here in Utah, usually stacking 3 at 30"+ will make you a serious contender... However, this year with the 10 top fish from each side being added together for the team score I suspect the final team scores will be made up of several fish in the 26 to 28" range, so anything over 25 is very possibly needed for a team score so I'd add anything you catch bigger than the last ones you added to your dance card... We typically just bump off your smallest and add the bigger fish to your three... We will also add the 10 biggest fish from each side together for a team score... So far not many are adding fish so I'm actually in first place with an average of 24" fish so others will push me out quick once they decide to enter some fish... Also, it's hard to figure out how to get the card, tape measure and fish all straight in the photo so practice on small fish so you don't screw up your trophy entry, oh look at some of the other entries on the contest board to get a good idea of how to do it so you get credit... Good luck... J

I haven't added any because I haven't been able to get out for two weeks. I am looking at Monday though for a little cat action. Especially now that I go the boat repaired and ready to go.

That's ok if you southern guys want to slack off, but up north we need to get busy. 26"er is best up north so far. Hey glad Ya got a float in place it will make things better. Good luck. J

Yeah all I had was my toon otherwise.

Toons are wonderful, but they do have a limited range and conditions clause. Not to mention the capacity limitation. Hope the boat will treat you well. I look forward to seeing your cats hit the contest board. Hope I can find some big enough to give you guys some competition. Later J
