Looking to go Easter weekend and wondered if anyone has been there. How's the water level and temp? I suppose the north shore is warming up the first. PM me if you want. Looking forward to hearing.

Which "twin lakes" are you referring to? I'm assuming since you referenced crappie it must be the ones in Northern Idaho? I don't believe the twin lakes in SE Idaho have crappie in them?

SE Idaho,Twin Lakes. I'm just going off of what a coworker told me. She may have

the fish type. Bluegill or sun perch. Anyway is there crappie in any of the lakes around Preston?

I stand corrected. Still, it is not a bad idea to identify which twin lakes. Good luck with the Crappies.

Twin lakes near Preston has bluegill, perch, bass, crappie, and trout. I usually hit it around first of June for gills and catch a couple crappie. With warm weatheher I don't know when it might be this year.

If we get a couple of weeks of 70 temps and wind, the gills will move in close to shore to spawn regardless of the date.

Thanks for the info. Looks like a cool spell for the next week, so will be slow fishing. Seems about a month early this year, still may be May before warm enough. I suppose the north shore will be the warmest first, so may start there. Is there a better place?

It depends. If it rains a lot & new cold water comes in. How high the water is in the lake. If there is a lot of water & it gets up in the trees, it will be shallow causing it to get warm in the South lake for spawning. You can fish the whole lake but the fish will be found at only 4 or 5 spots in large numbers.
