Just wanted to say hello to all the poster in the Salt Lake city area. I have been reading the site for a couple of years now and your advice has helped me tremendously figuring out these smart Provo river fish. Definitely a different ball game the CA eastern sierra trout that will eat any fly you throw at them. Just wanted to say thanks a bunch. Any help or ideas on fishing the south fork of the Ogden in August would be appreciated. Our church does an annual retreat up there and I spend 2-3 days fishing the river every summer. Spent some time in MO on the firehole, Madison, and gallatin last year as well as Hegben lake. Next adventure will be the Green river.

Welcome to the site Dave, I'm going to move your post to the main Utah board. Hopefully you will get an answer to your question there. Did you know there is also a Fly Fishing board, in the Utah section of BFT?

welcome Dave. last time I fished the south fork of the ogden, it had a decent population of wild browns, with the occasional cutthroat. I really like small hoppers in august over there....favorite is a size 12 Daves hopper or a small parachute hopper. good luck!
