like it says, would like to buy a map to load into my Hummingbird 999HD Sonar for fishing the gorge as well as the berry to help boat more fish.
Ashley Bonser (<--Spell check) recommended one during his presentation at the Sportsmans Expo and I thought i saved it into my phone but guess not.
So im looking at what everyones favorites are to use?

also, still learning all the tricks with this new finder so im also looking to see if anyone that uses a HB wouldnt mind sharing how they have there settings setup on there unit?

go online to look up your machine and read the manual that is online. much more comprehensive than anything they send to you. Teaches yand how to run all the programs. pricing program and the manuals are under hummingbird under your model number

NI've been looking at the Lakemaster maps western states edition for my Helix 5. It has both lakes and quite a few others, you can look up the western and it shows all the lakes it has and also said you can request a lake. I just got my finder so i want to use it a while before I drop around $125 for maps. I do wish it has Jordanelle but there almost every other decent sized lake around here on it. Not sure this helps much. Post what you end up buying and how you like it when you decide on one please and thanks.

Oh and it's a Sd card (micro for me) that just pops in the unit, unless you just download it off the card? Like I said I just got my finder not even rigged for the boat. Need to read the manual I guess lol

That looks good, I like how that looks.
I'll probably end up going that route. Does it have any pre set way points or just the ones you mark & save yourself?

you will need to make your own way points they are saved on your 999 make sure you get Humminbird PC it is free
If you dont already have it Google Humminbird PC their is some good you tube videos that you can watch.

I have both maps I have two fish finders I use one for maps.
It helps a lot, fishing for lakers.

This is what Lake master map looks like
at FG, Soldier Creek, Strawberry, and Bear Lake
if you want I can do the same with the Navionics Map.

That would be great if you could.

I wish I could afford to run two units, that would be ideal

this is the Navionics map I took off the Onix
you can see some of my way points
on the 999 it should look about the same
you have got a good fishfinder
I take a battery in the house and keep playing mine.

yeah i heard it was a really good one so thats why we went with it, hopefully i can figure out how to use it to its full potential this season.

do you like the lakechart or the navi better? seams a lot of people like the navionics, so im leaning towards that one

you will do OK with the Navi map

watch a lot of you tube on how to use your finder
for kokes at FG I set the range, the range between 30 and 85 ft' in the summer.
I like max mode and 83 Khz so I can see the downrigger balls and 200k to see if the kokes are under the boat.
and chart speed at 3
play with the Sensitivity
I will use bottom zoom for the big lakers some times
thats about it.

Wow I’m terrible, I can’t beleive it’s been 3 years and I’ve suffered this long without a good map, I finally caved in today and bought the the HB Lakemaster plus. It was a hard choice but ended up with HB for the depth shading features.

Should have it Wednesday and I’ll be heading back to FG Thursday to test it out.
