I fished Huntington North today from my kick boat. I fished from 8:00 until 11:00 and caught one 16" and one 19" wiper using a fast sinking line and a size 8 bead head tan/green/pearl crystal bugger. I had six other fish on for a little while. The water temp has hit the 50 degree mark and the visibility in the water is about 6'. The reservoir is still almost full. The fish were all hooked in 18' - 35' deep water while paddling/trolling. I planned to fish longer but when the winds came up and I got out before I washed ashore somewhere that I didn't want to be.[:p]

Nice job man.... Know how many fisherman want to hook em with the fly rod? All of us, should have been a good fight...

Wipers are a great sport fish on a fly rod. They take minnow and leech patterns almost as good as they do minnow imitating lures. Once you find the depth they are at you can usually hook a few. My experience at HN is once the water temps get into the 50's and you can get your fly down 25'-30' you will have some success. All you have to do is hang on and they will hook themselves.
Now that's my kind of fish![
