I had a gentleman call me last night to ask if my client and I had really caught some fish on the new Echo crankbait by "Rat-L-Trap" or did I just put the bait in it's mouth. The bait will speak for it's self. I had a cancelation today so I got out by myself just to see how well this bait would do if I stayed with it for a long period of time. Most of the fish are spawning, but there are still plenty of fish along the deeper grass lines that are aggressive enough to "slam" this bait. I had a lot of small fish and a few decent quality fish on the Echo crankbait and I included a couple of pics of the better fish I got, along with the bait still in their mouths. When the clouds moved in and the rain started I went to some shallow grass areas to use a Zell-Pop and lets just say I had a blast with small fish blowing this bait out of the water. I had 20 plus hits on the Zell-Pop and DID NOT miss a fish, they were eating this bait with no problems. Once again, these fish were small also, but I was just out to not only prove a point but to just "plain ole have some fun". One other thing I would like to add is that I know that the "elite pros" are here and I've always had a lot of respect for these guys and what they do, BUT, today one of the "pros" that I will not mention the name had a tendacy to follow me to each area that I fished. I don't mean I occasionally saw him, he was following and watching me at each area I went to and some were fairly long runs, and a little too close at times. I know these guys make a living at what they do,"as well as myself being a guide" but I just wonder if when this guy walks across the stage during the weigh in days will he mention that "he" found these fish he caught, or will he be honest and say he followed a local guide around during practice and watched everything he did and that's how "he" found the fish. I'm very sure that not only his sponsors, which are well known, but also the fan base that follows him might be a little dissapointed in knowing that instead of trying to use his own talents and knowledge that he "stole" someone elses without asking if they would mind. I think that these actions are far from being an "elite pro", just my opinion. Get out and have fun, Mike Carter
