Thinking about chasing some walleye next weekend if weather permits, 4/18-19. Any recent info would be great! Is there a best time of the year for chasing them?

You can pick one up every now and then right now (throwing and or slow trolling crankbaits ) but when I was there 2 weekends ago the walleye we caught were all small males about 12-15". Females are or should be spawning now I believe. Seems to always be best from memorial weekend to end of July.
