Haven't heard much from anyone on Starvation so two friends and I decided to head over this morning. Arrived late at 10:30 to find water high and docks in. Water very clear and 44F. Light winds. Started in Saltarious (SP?) and in 30 seconds had one of the hardest hits I can recall of. Literally bent the good ol' ugly stick 90 degrees and I was glad it didn't break. Anyway we were busy putting in the other two rods and got there late. He got away, and the next and the next and the next. Slowed speed to 1.5 and started landing some. The bows seemed to be hitting short on squids behind dodgers. Had continuous action and best color was orange dodger with orange squid, but white was nearly as good.
Wanted to explore some on our first trip this year so pulled out and headed to Strawberry River inlet with similar results. Don't think we went 5 minutes without another hit. Bows were beautiful! All about 2 to 3# with one going well over 4#.
Sorry, didn't think to take pics, but did take a pic of one that stayed for dinner. Buy the way, I replaced my 8' whip antenna with a shorter one I had to mount on new tower. The 8 footer is free to anyone who can use it. Just send my a pm.
