MY wife and I went to Flaming GorgeTue. Wednesday, and Thursday.
We did OK.
The water temp Wednesday at 9:30 AM was46.8 deg. When we got of the lake it was 49.8 deg
At 9:30 am at 15' down it was 45.5 30' 43.7, at 65' 43.4, at 95 43.2,
Thursday at 12 noon, top water was47.5, at 15' down 46.4, at 30' 45.6deg. At 65' 45.2 deg.
At 90' 45.5
I don't think I'm going to let my wifereel in any more big lakers she tells everyone about the big fishshe catches, she doesn't say I did everything else.
Here are some Kokes we got Tuesday andWednesday.
You did not need a fish finder becauseI did not see any Kokes.
Using a planer board I think the lurewas down about 10 Ft. and this did just as good as the riggers.
The thee down-riggers set between 13and 20 ft everything got kokanee
I had a long set back. 1.7mph[inline G0671400.JPG]
Thursday did catch some at 27' downbut still didn't see them on the fishfinder.
And I have two good finders.

I love the Fish Hawk, in the summer I will find where the 52 and 54 deg water temp. is. and put a lure at that temp.
and my wife is doing good.

[#800000]Damn! Those things ain't cheap. $850 for the X4D model, $670 for the X4, and $170 for the TD. Cabela's sell them so I could get the TD model for $150 there and get it free if I used my points. Which one do you have LT?[/#800000]

I have the Fish Hawk TD and it works good I just put a bunch of weight on a fishing pole line and let it go down.
you can put it on leadline and see how deep it is going down.
I think there is some you tube on this.
I think it helps me get kokes.

I've got into the koke fishing at Strawberry and love it but have not ever been to Flaming Gorge. Ive got a week off starting May3rd and want to take the family there. Ill be taking the 17' Smokercraft and our camp trailer. Any recommendation on best place to camp to put me where the good koke fishing is? I'd prefer a paid site with sewer and electric but im open to free dry camping as well.

[#800000]I stay at Lucerne Campground (USFS) just outside Manila. They have water/electric and decent showers and the price is fairly reasonable at $28/night.[/#800000]

I noticed you have a pretty long setback between your flasher and your squid. If you don't mind my asking what is the length you use?>
