I made it back out for a little bass fishing and managed another fatty.

Also caught a few other nice ones.[inline "fatty 4 small.jpg"]

The largest was caught on a small, medium diving crank, the other two as you can see were caught on spinnerbaits.

Really nice. What was the water temp? Were they schooled up or on their beds already?

Nice fish. With the pictures you've been posting it makes me really consider changing the species I normally target.

Water temp was 56 when I got there at 1, and 58 when I left at 8. They're not on their beds yet and were mostly scattered, though I did find one spot where I caught 8 from a small area.
I went back on Wednesday for a few hours. Water was 58. It was one of those frustrating days where it was glassy calm and you could see nice fish aimlessly cruising, but they were skittish and non aggressive. I only managed 7 and the best was only around 18". It seems like they get like that when they're about to get serious about setting up on beds, so I think it's close.

Thanks, they're a lot of fun. Those big bass pull like a freight train. I enjoy all species, but bass are just so fun, I'm kind of stuck on them lately.

Big girls need love too! [cool]

It's true, and I've been eager to please [
] They kind of snubbed me on Wednesday though. I think I might need to back off and give them some space for a little bit [

Whoa! Now that's a fish!!

Thanks! Did you catch my other fatty from a few weeks ago? I'm getting spoiled catching these fish so early in the year. I can't help but think the rest of the year will be a bit of a letdown.
