I am going to dedicate this report to Tony Pardue and thank him for all his support. It will make your heart feel good, Tony, to know that I only fished Bass Assassin Panfish Assassins today. I caught a couple on the dapper, but most came on the Limetreuse ghost 2" panfish assassin. It was hot.

Dr Phil couldn't go with me today, so I went alone to scout new areas and not fish any old areas. I did fish one spot this AM that we fished in the Crappie for Canines tournament on Sunday. But, it is a new spot for me as well since I just found this spot about 10 days ago or so. I had studied my map last night and planned out the areas that I intended to scout today. I located every one and put waypoints on them. Some already had fish and others are designated to have crappie hotels planted in the future. I found several schools of fish. The fish are easy to find, but sometimes it is hard as heck to get them to bite. I really messed up one promising spot. I saw brush or stump and a school of crappie on them. Threw my marker out and caught a nice 13" white crappie on it. Next cast, the wind caught my jig and got it a little too close to the marker. You guessed it. Hooked the dad gummed marker and had to drag it in to the boat. I had trouble getting the hook out of the string and by the time that I did, "Crazy Ivan" had decided that he didn't want the spot lock on and just turned it off. The wind had drifted me several yards away. So, crank up the big motor, go over the spot again, threw the marker, saw the fish, but apparently I spooked the fish because I couldn't get another bite.

The last 30 minutes or so was just idling along in an old familiar spot to see if the fish have moved back after spawning. Not yet, so it will probably be 2 to 3 more weeks before this area becomes productive. I even threw a top water plug in an area that I see a lot of bass fishermen fishing. Didn't fool with that but one or two casts. Scouting more fun.

I had 8 keepers and a few shorts to go along with the pics that I took. More white crappie today than blacks. Go figure?

That's my story today and I'm sticking with it. emoBig emoGeezer
