Are they catching the crappie from shore at this time around the North Marina. I have a job in Salt Lake today, and figure at that point I'm halfway there. I just would not have my boat. So, would it be worth the trip for a couple hours of shore fishing for some crappie?
Thanks

Yes they were catching some crappie off the North point at the North Marina last week. I dont know how many but as we came in we did see several fisherman and did see them reel a couple crappie in. They were fishing on the rocky point noeth side of the Marina entrance.

[#0000FF]So far the crappies have not showed much inside the marina. Very low water, but they did come in for a short period last year even in low water.
As mentioned, there are a very few spots on the outside points at the entrance where it is deep enough to attract the fish...and hordes of crappie chasers. Plan to bring your own rock to stand on.

I fished inside the North Marina for a few hours on Thursday.
One hit and nothing landed for me.
I did see about 5 Crappie total caught inside the Marina.
I wonder if the Crappie will even show up for Spawn inside the very low Marina this year.

[#0000FF]To the best of my recollection the water level was only slightly higher at this time last year. And although the crappie were slow to come in, they did swarm in for a brief couple of weeks during the actual spawn. In other waters around the country I have seen them set up housekeeping in water less than 2 feet deep. But usually in natural lakes with more stable water levels and with abundant weeds and brush.
They will do what they want...when they want.
