After taking my daughter fishing last weekend, I think she may have become addicted.
She has been using a cheaper push button reel and happy with it for the most part but she got ahold of my spinning reel for a couple of casts last weekend. After a short lesson couple casts, she refused to give it back. I ended up finishing out the day with a very pretty bright red fishing pole.
Anyway, she is hounding me to go back out and I thought it would be fun to try to find some place to try for catfish. Would love to see the look on her face if she hooked in to something with a little size to it.
Some of my best memories are of sitting with friends around a fire on the bank of the Des Moines river fishing for Channel cats. Not much fishing I guess, more talking and hanging out but we always came home with something.
Anyone have a suggestion for a place to try for catfish around here?
