Wondering if anyone knows how the population of 4 year Kokes is forecasted to look this year?

Hoping to head up there soon but always more happy when the bigger fishies are more available.

they are 2.5 to 3 lbs right now but are hard to find, the water needs to warm up. like getting 52 deg down at 30 ft. so you can see them on your fishfinder.

the top water is 50 to 52 deg. now

We took the boat out the first weekend of last month and caught our limit in less than an hour all were in the 2.5 to 3 pound range I can only hope it's as good as last years fishing.

Wow they got color already? I thought they didn't turn until later on in the year like June - July time frame. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to get at em this year.

With the color on the Kokanee, I suspect that those are pictures of some of the Kokanee he mentions catching last year.

If the fish that we have been catching this week are any indication of whats to come. I say it will be a good year for kokes.

I posted this a couple years ago. I know you're asking about this years 4 year old spawning class. Next year is when we should see a hit. Due to budget cuts by WGFD, they stocked 300,000 less Kokes in 2013, and presumably have stayed at that lower level as they are still dealing with budget issues. These would be this years 3 year old class.
