When we blasted off we went to the spot we wanted to fish and stayed there all day long. I started throwing a spook and Earl was throwing a jig. I caught a short on a spook pretty quick. A few minutes later Earl caught a short. I would say 15 minutes later Earl hollered for the net. Boated our first keeper weighing 5.3. Not long after that he boats a 4.5. Then again a 3.9. We have three keepers by 8ish. We ease around there and I get a blowup on the spook. Fish came right out of the water we knew it was a good one. Brought it to the boat, Earl had the net down and the fish took a dive and broke off. emoBang It was easily a 5#er. I ended up missing a few blowups after that one then I decided to pick up the jig. We caught a few fish in the 3# range then Earl hollers for the net again. He says this one is a pig buddy and he was right. Got her in the net. A 9.3. Had our bag at 8:45 that morning . Throughout the day after that Earl had several 3#ers we threw back. I also had several 3#ers and one a lil over 4#s we threw back. It wasnt fast and furious but we caught alot of good keeper fish. All our fish were caught shallow on spook and jig. Weighed in 18.65#s for the win. Congrats to all that placed. See yall at the Nick.
