So I don't own down riggers. So have been fishing with leaded line. Can the dodger and squid combo work on leaded line? To catch the kokeenes?

People do it all of the time.

You can use leaded line with dodgers, but I wouldn't go bigger than 0 or 00 size. Also try tying a rubber snubber to you leaded line, then your dodger with about 3 ft of leader then your favorite koke lure. If your up at the Gorge try going out 5-6 colors on your leaded line and troll
about 1.5 mph.

Add a long leader to your leaded line, at least 50 ft. STrip out the last 8-10 inches of lead and slide about 18 inches of 14-20lb mono up the core of the line. Tie an overhand knot at the end of the mono where it hits the lead and another on the end of the dacron braid where the mono goes in. You now have a tag that you can attach what ever size leader your want. I tie a small split ring (oval) that will go through the guides and level wind and attach the leader to that. You can make your leader any length you want, I usually use 50 ft of Flurocarbon for the leader. You can now rig your dodger any way you want, any size you want because the leader will still allow it to move freely. It also allows your to reel the leader onto the reel and play the fish to the end of the rod.

If the guides on the rod are large enough a small ball bearing swivel can be attached to the tag of the lead core, most rod tips will allow a size 0 ball bearing swivel to slide through with out difficulty. The swivel is very useful when using a dodger as it prevents twisting of the lead core which is a real PAIN !!

Don't troll for Kokes, but use this for pulling cranks for walleye and strippers !!
