Was thinking about chasing some Kokes tomorrow afternoon/evening at the Berry. Have always fished the morning and left early afternoon, but no experience with the evening hours.
Anyone been out in the evening?
Any Koke activity then?
Seems like the full moon has them off their feed in the early morning lately. Thinking an evening run might be productive.
Ps. Picked up another four pound Koke Wednesday morning. They sure are nice sized this year. Sorry no pic.

I've wondered the same thing. Most often it's the wind that determines when I get off the lake, but I wonder if the wind generally dies down in the evening too.

I usually always go to the soldier creek side so the wind is usually quite managable. Normally do well in the evening

Having camped there overnight, the wind does die off in the evening and then the surface action is rampant with all the noses hitting the surface.

What, other people don't fish all day? Man, I wake up at 4:00 AM to get on the water to fish all day until dark when I go. Most days I forget to eat lunch.

Most any body of water in the state that's surrounded by mountains gets a surge in wind that starts from 11:00 to 1:00 and lasts until about an hour or two before sunset. All depends on how wide of a temperature range there is from about 5:00 AM at the coldest part of the day until it starts warming up the slopes of the mountains. In the summer when it's only 10-15 degrees difference from night to midday, there's less wind. The sunset bite is sometimes quite a thing to behold.

We went up yesterday afternoon (6-3-15) we were on the water at about 5:30 pm, it was pretty windy when we go there but by 6pm it was pretty calm. We ended up landing 4 kokes a rainbow and a cutt, had 1 koke get off at the boat and a few other fish on and never saw them.

Yes, I'm still fishing the SC side. Decided to head up early am again, tomorrow. That early morning bite is good until about 9:00am, then it seems to go dead for a couple of hours. Anyway, see you around tomorrow. Good luck!
