Blake and I hit the river after he got off work on Tuesday morning. Very cloudy and overcast. No wind and no current.

We fished the main lake drops. Setting in 20 - 25 fow casting up to 10 - 15 fow. We used cranks and plastics. Plastics seemed to be the ticket for the day only one fish on the crankbait. We caught several on the plastics - six to eight keepers with the largest being 5 lb 5 oz. (If fought and looked like a much bigger fish, bulldogged it way around the boat and into deeper water.) Our best five were 18 or so lbs. Very scattered, we only hit one school and it was a school of spotted bass, three were caught back to back, all under 14 inches. Also, caught one small smallmouth about 14 inches.

Good morning, but we left at noon. Apparently the river current started to increase about then. It would have been nice to have tried with the increased flow. But we had already gotten wet from the rain and the afternoon storms were building up. Glad we were not there when the storm hit about three.
