I fished Hawkins yesterday in my tube from 7:30 until 3:00. The weather was great with 40's - 60's and very little wind. I used a #4 uniform sink line and various size 6-10 soft hackle flies and leech patterns. The fishing was pretty steady for mostly rainbows, hybrids and a few cutthroats. The water temperature was 64 degrees and the visibility in the water was about 7'. The reservoir level is down about 5' from being full and the deepest water I fished over was 19'. I caught about half the fish while paddling and pumping the rod and the other half while stripping the line up from the bottom. There was one boat, two other tubers, and a few shore anglers while I was there. The guys in the boat and the tubers all caught some fish but the bank anglers didn't seem to be doing much. I hadn't fished here in three years so it was nice to get back and spend some time on the pond. I had a rare treat on the way over from I-15. I saw two roosters and a hen pheasant. They should be on the endangered list in Utah, we hardly ever see any here.
