I launched twice Yesterday in the south marina both morning and afternoon. Both times I noticed there were very few boats and of the few only four were not fishing. I have been out on a Wednesday morning and saw more boats, kinda weird for a Saturday. I'm not complaining it was nice to be out on the open water on a Saturday and not be even close to other boaters. Anyway a great day on the water. The morning was a short trip with a TON of bugs, 9 fish boated mostly wiper and a couple of walleye. Then we had a such a good time we retuned later in the day for more. This time a little wind got rid of the bugs

Pretty much the same thing 8 or 9 fish but we added a catfish to the mix! Also we caught one of the best looking wipers it was a 4lb 2oz, 23 inch beauty! The tail fin seemed longer on this one. No problems launching, we used the center ramp and we were able to dock with no issues. While the fishing was a bit slower yesterday it was still a great day overall, and a special thanks to all those that stayed home

Nice report. You can thank the weatherman for the lack of boaters. I know he kept me off with his 50% chance of t-storms forecast all day. I kept waiting for mother nature to turn it up, but by the end of the day I just wish I would have hit the water.
Sounds like everyone out there yesterday did well.

I think the lack of skibums was due a combination of three medically-proven ingredients (as a TV commercial used to say...)
1. The new higher entrance fee
2. Reports of extremely low water
3. Predicted bad weather.

My son, daughter in law and I launched out of the north marina about 8 am Saturday and I couldn't believe there wasn't a lot of people, especially on free fishing day. We had a great day boated 18 fish wiper, walleye and crappie. My DIL couldn't believe the strength of the wiper, but then she's not used to catching bigger fish either. Wish I had some pics to post but she has all of them.

I launched out of the North Marina and fished the afternoon until dark. Very slow, no wipers, only crappie. I fished all along the east shoreline. Talked to a few other boats as well and they had slow fishing as well.

The only time we got close to the shoreline was going out and back into the marina. We trolled 100 yds out from the southwest dike to the middle. Trolling back to the marina we picked up a couple Walleye.
