Took my son out to Magic for a bit of trolling yesterday morning. There is still plenty of water in the reservoir. Out in the middle it was around 60 feet deep and down by the dam it was over 70 feet deep. We arrived around 7 AM and were going to put in at West magic. Ended up wasting some time getting the boat ready to launch and then discovering that the docks were so shallow that you would have to back way past them to launch. We got the boat tied back down and gear stowed and put in at the launch near Myrtle Point. There were only three boats on the reservoir that morning. One had already put in before us and the other came in right after us. All three of us were trolling. Fishing was pretty slow. My son hooked two fish and landed one. Both fish bit after 9:00. I was happy that they both hit his pole as he was willing to get up early and go fishing with dad. Once it got hot around 10:15 we headed home. Talked to a few bank fishermen near the dock and they said that Magic has been slow all year. One of the other boats left before we did and they did not have any luck. Maybe it will pick up as the water drops. If you head out there in the near future let me know how you do.

We hit in our pontoons about four weeks ago by Lava Point and it was reallllll slow. Yeah, we are hoping it gets back to the way it was before they drew it way down to fix the turbine.
