We're leaving for a week-long family camping trip to Bear Lake next week. It's gonna be myself, the wife and 3 kids (8, 6, 3). The bulk of our time will be spent playing in the water and in the sand (we're staying at the East beach campground / state Park). We may check out the caves in the area, too.

I haven't heard of any really great fishing reports from Bear Lake. And, thus, I'm inclined to just leave the poles and gear home. But if anyone knows of some excellent areas of the Lake (in Idaho) and wouldn't mind sharing some very specific details on where I might find them, I would be very grateful (and my kids, too). I'm totally unfamiliar with the lake as far as fishing goes. PM is fine.

Your in the right neighborhood on the lake for fishing for sure. If I remember right, North Eden on down to First Point are some of the best spots on the lake.

Also remember, with an Idaho License you can fish the whole lake, you just have to follow Utah's regulations for their areas.

"Bear Lake between Idaho and Utah: The holder of a valid
Idaho or Utah fishing license may fish all of Bear Lake except
in areas closed to all fishing by the respective states. Anglers
are subject to the rules and regulations of the state in which
they are fishing."
