I woke my 7 year old and 5 year old up at 5:30 and offered them a shopping spree in the candy isle of 7-11 if they'd go fishing with me.
They took the bait.
We targeted walleye first and after an hour of no hits, bites or bumps we switched gears and went after the troutskis.
Within 30 seconds of dropping the downriggers, we hit fish. The bite lasted until we got rained off the lake around 11:45. We kept our limit and released at least 30 to eventually meet their fate via rotenone
We had two poles on downriggers, fishing an orange doger with a pink squid. I guess it's not just a set up for kokes.
