Anyone find grayling in the Uintas?I see MarjorieLake, but it's quite a hike!

My brother caught one in Trial Lake thirty years ago and I've heard of others occasionally over the years. 11,000 3-inchers were planted in there again last year so I expect in a year or two we will start hearing of more being caught.

I am heading to Smith and Morehouse this week with the family to see if we can get our Grayling fix.

Made the hike to Marjorie last year. We had our float tubes and waders on our backs and it wasn't bad. Caught a Brookie and a bunch of Grayling. Also caught 3 grayling at Washington Lake last week.

Moon lake has them also. We catch a few every year.

Thanks!

Was in there on Wednesday, caught a few on fly and bubble. The hike really isn't to bad in my opinion. My 7 year old nephew did it and was in the lead the whole time.

Caught a few at Smith Morehouse with a silver kastmaster fishing off the dam a few weekends ago. It only took about 5 casts.

Thanks guys. Went to mirror, Crystal, & Washington. No luck. Ended up on the upper Provo alongside rt. 150 & caught some small Browns. Beautiful scenery and 46 deg!

Did you not have luck with any fish at crystal, mirror or Washington? I was going to take a buddy up there early Saturday and try to get him into a few fish. Thanks

Yes, using an attractor fly and a nymph. Just let it float. Lots of "tigers"

Thanks. I'll hook him up with a bubble and fly setup while I use the fly rod. Thanks again.

Me and my buddy went up right after the fourth and there was not too much activity caught a few tigers and a few bows. It was pounded pretty hard. I imagine this weekend won't be too kind to those lakes either, because everyone takes their families up there for the beautiful scenery and fishing Smile... can't say I blame em.
if you are wanting to catch more fish definitely go off the beaten path and you will have a lot more success. And catch some bugger fish

I agree on that. Limited time may not give us the chance but at least we'll be out and out very early. May hike to Wall Lake but that will be crowded as well.

the inlet at State Line Res has a ton of them hanging out right near where the water starts to slack

Also, the Upper Provo between Trial and Wall has quite a few grayling, plus tigers cutts and bows.

The hike to Marj is pretty easy and only has moderate ups and downs. Don't be afraid to wander over to Long Lake and the pond below for some brookies too.
