Just wanted to say hi and ask if anyone has some tips or reports for fishing Deer Creek Reservoir. I''ve fished the Charleston Bay area (shore) with a bobber and powerbait without much success (twice). I now have a boat but have no clue how to fish Deer Creek from a boat.

All my life my dad took me to Strawberry so I have no clue how to fish Deer Creek. My target is Rainbow Trout. Obviously I don't want your hot spots. But any advice on lures, leader length, how deep the trout usually are, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Fishing in the channel in the Charleston Bay area from a boat has been good with powerbait or worms. Don't use a bobber. Use as little weight as possible about 2ft from the the power bait, a slip sinker works best. Fish the worms with no weight if there is no wind, and just let them sink slowly. Look for the other boats to find the channel.

Welcome to BFT! If you have a good sonar/FF then this will help. I went over to the west side off the cliff and found some hanging out deep then dropped a chartreuse jig down and it was hit by one on the drop. Also when all else fails trolling works well. I take a rod with mono on it an add a size 1 egg sinker, tie on a number 7 swivel then at about 5 feet of line as a leader. Tie on your lure and drag it behind you. Also works great with a worm harness and a dodger.
