First time fishing report, so please bear with me guys.
Started out at HPSP, around 8ish, fished from the pier for an hour and a half or so. Couldn't buy a bite, but reeled in a huge ball of braid.
My wife wanted to fish some more (as did I), so we drove over to the boat ramp at CFP. Fished the shallows with T-rigged worms, green pumpkin for me and a sparkly purple one for the missus. Again, no bites. Saw a decent sized fish come out of the water near the and of the dock, and took a shot. Third cast, I hooked a nice LM, and 4 feet from the dock he spit the hook. Within a 45 minute period, my wife and I hooked 5 more fish, all but 1 came off the hook close to the dock. The one that didn't....well, he decided to break the line as I was hand-pulling him up. I'm certainly not an expert, but he had to have been a solid 4-5lber, big bodied fish.
Needless to say the Eagle Claws I had in the box are being replaced with Owners, we both like them a lot better anyway. Fish bit well until 2:30 am when we left. Tough night but still an enjoyable evening with my better half.
Line was 10lb Cajun, 202 rod with a 33 platinum, eagle claws and Zoom worms.
