I'm considering a wiper pursuit in the early AM. In the lakes I fish around here (So. Utah) I've always done best from the half hour before sunset to an hour after dark. I primarily fly fish for them and what I'm curious to know, is if anyone else targets them early. I'm thinking half an hour before daybreak until who knows when. I'll be at Minersville so I can target trout while I'm over there but would like to hear of any experiences you all have had.

Now that's fascinating!
What is the primary food source there? Chubs?

Yes, and they have made a dent in them already. Two years ago you could catch them at will. Now it's rare to get one. Same thing out to Newcastle, they have decimated the shiners and the trout are doing well now there is less competition. Smallies seem to be growing a little slower but the wipers that are still in there are brutes.
