Full Version: Berkley Powerbait eggs on tube jigs?

Yesterday, I was watching fishing videos on YouTube. This guy puts the Powerbait eggs on the hooks of his jigs for catching stocked trout. Has anyone had success using jigs and Powerbait eggs? I'm using 1/16th oz. jigs for my tube jigs.

I've used Berkley liquid attractant, but never put eggs on jigs. There's a variety of scents. I like crawfish and salmon best.
We call it "stink".

[#0000FF]They will definitely work. It's the scent that does the job. You can also use the Berkeley corn. It's legal.

Even better is to get small jars of the floating trout worms...in natural worm, white and chartreuse. They are about 2-3 inches long. Cut them into 1/2" to 1" pieces and thread a piece on your jig hook and slide it up inside the tube jigs...with a bit hanging out. It works well for many species.

I would also like to add I have done well last fall with the small bay shrimp by Western Family. My worms died last Nov so I defrosted at least a dozen shrimps and had my limit within an hour and a half. Maybe I'll rig a tandem jig rig and test shrimp against worms or shrimp against the Powerbait eggs. It's kind of fun to try different baits on the same jigs to see what the fish prefer. Thanks for the input.

[#0000FF]Shrimp is a proven bait for several species...trout included.

On any given day it is wise to have more than one option available. Never know what those silly fish might want.
