I am taking a bunch of kids down to Utah lake this evening and would love any advice. The kids don't care what they catch, they just want to catch a bunch of fish. I have fished The Provo boat harbor with some success, but any tips would be appreciated.

Tossing a worm with a slip sinker is is likely to land sum bullhead catfish. Or toss it under 18 or 2 feet under a bobber may land you a variety of species.

I have heard smashing a bread around a treble hook with no weight is a decent way to land a carp, although I have never tried it.

not sure of the skill level of the kids, but maybe casting some curly tail jigs may do the trick, and they can be enhanced with some worm on it as well. Might get some white bass, or crappie, or something else.

Most of all, have a good time whether you catch something or nothing.

Your biggest problem will be that the lake is so shallow right now, that getting to a place you can fish will be a challenge. All the harbors are less than 3 ft. deep right now. On the lake, you are going to be be in less than 18 inches of water for over 50 yards from shore. Take em to Deer Creek instead, there is pretty good fishing from shore and you have more water !!!
