I had the pleasure of tagging along with sotallytober for some walleye and perch action at deer creek. we got to the lake at 7am and headed to the island and started bottom bouncing spinner rigs for eyes, we only made it about a 100 yards before I got slammed by my first nice walleye of the day ,we the proceeded to pick up several jumbo peach and one more eye all on bottom bouncers. We switched over to jigs and started vertical jigging for perch when I got the biggest perch of the day a 12 incher that's when things got interesting, I had held it up for a quick picture when it flipped out of my hands and got his revenge on my poor friend putting a 3/4 inch spine right under his fingernail almost coming out the other side of his finger (wow I've never seen that before) a little quick surgery and back to fishing we had fast action the rest of the afternoon. we kept 18 perch threw back another 20 or so and only two walleye. what a fun day thanks travis.

I've never fished with bottom bouncers, how fast/slow do you troll with them?
Good looking Perch! Tasty little suckers they are!

Nothing like fish getting their revenge on the anglers.

we were fishing about 1.2 mph but you can go slower or faster if you can stay on the bottom at the higher speeds.

I had the same exact thought as soon as I saw your pics.
It appears that not having ice for the 14/15 season did a big favor for DC perch, not to mention I think the trout there this year were noticeably bigger.
And here I sit with no boat until it gets finished in late September....
