Rockport is fishing very well right now in areas with 10' to35' of water. That will put you 100 to 200 yards off shore. It doesn't seem to mater which side of the lake you are on.The trout are holding better in the shallower water and the perch in the deeper. If you want to catch both, go a little deeper20' to 30'.Use a heaver spoon or spinner like a cast master or a swedish pimple and tie an ice jig like a rat finkey about 12" above it. Tip both offerings with wax worm then fish right off the bottom. Don't jig very much or it scares the fish. The hit is very light most of the time, so you will want to use a wire indicator on the end of your rod. Get there early and plan on fast action until about noon. Sat. morning there will be a lot of BFG people fishing there that can give you more help if you would like. DKSRenegade

I just read DKSRenegade reply he said don't jig to much. That reminde me of what I saw in Sportman Warhouse its called Mr. JIg it ballance your rod give it a bump and it keeps on going (jiging). Has any body seen these and given a try. I use the old bucket myself .

My son has one and the only problem with it is that the rod that holds your pole stays on the pole when you lift it up to set the hook. This is a little awkward fighting the wire rod and the fish at the same time. The thing that I do like about it is that it gives a smooth gentile movement to your offering. All in all I won't use it very much because I like holding my pole rather than setting it down and then reaching quickly for it.DKSRenegade
