So headed to PV today, was on the water in the Predator 13 by 0616. Fished the open water till 1100, catching about 25 crappie. They were hitting on jigs and crank baits.
Told the wife I would be home by noon so time to go...but since I'm in the shallows getting to the truck I thought I had better through a top water plug to see if there were any bass on the ambush.
First cast, big splash and a miss just behind the plug...second cast same results but this time he continued to chase, turned off when it got 8 feet out from boat. Now I'm freaking out...put on a steel leader....check all knots...cast...splash...skip the bait on the water...BAMMO...engulfed by a 38ish inch monster tiger Musky ( any tiger is a monster in my book!) ...my freak level increased by 10 to the 9th power!
Ok so I have seen trout jump, watched the shows with the huge bass flying through the air...but this thing went full on Ringling bros. acrobat three different times. He drags me out about 60 yards before he seems to get tired. I get him along side the Kayak three times and get about 8 seconds of Shakey Jake cell phone video. As I put down the phone to resume the battle. He goes in a weed bed next to th yak, he leaves the weed bed...my lure stays in the weed bed!
Some day I will hold one in my hands but I thank the Lord for the fight and the water release of this magnificent fish, my first hook up with a Tiger and from the new kayak.
Got home an hour late but who gives a damn, I love this game called life!

Great report. Nothing like catching a tiger.

Now you're he one who's hooked! I think I saw you up here yesterday. My buddy and I were in the blue and silver Lund. The tigers were up and aggressive yesterday. We put three apiece in the boat, and lost a few more. It was a great day. I'm glad that you were able to get one to give you a bend on the rod. You'll never be the same again ;0) Fred K

Might I ask what depth of water you were getting the crappie? I'd love to go catch some dinner. Were they big enough to filet?

From 10 to 15 feet and had some follow up to 4 feet. All were small 7-10 but skinny. I have never filleted one before but they looked on the small side to me. Only had one I might have attempted it on.
