Work has gotten slow with Back to school starting up. Usually it picks up shortly after school starts with the kids at school and the parents at work. The house is empty and the thieves know it. However that has not started just yet. Did not have much to do today and when Don called, who owns Action Alarms, he told me to go fishing and if he needed me he would call me. emoDance You don't have to tell me twice to go fishing! emoBig

Headed for the lake to fish a couple hours before it got too hot. Tried a few things different today in search of a few not on my normal radar. The grass is coming up well in several places and I broke out a Cutthroat white buzz bait and started burning it by areas with scattered grass edges. Had a couple slicks take it but no keepers. I was just about to put it up when I had one CRUSH IT!!!! One of the best hits I have had all year. It wanted to kill that buzz bait. Really a pretty one that ended up being my best one of the day. It weighed 4 lbs and 14 ozes on my scale and it usually weighs a little light so she may have been five. emoThumbsup (Pic Below) Thought I had figured something out but as the sun came up higher that bite died.

Finally out of desperation I broke out my shakey and went back to the only bite I seem to find consistent right now. Drowning a shakey on deep grass edges. Put a couple solid two pounders in the boat and one more about 3 and a half. Not a bad little quick outing. It got hot fast, they said the heat index was over 100, it felt it. I decided I had enough and headed home. With the grass like it is, it will not be long before the top water grass bite turns on and top water gets good. Looking forward to it. emoTongue Jmax
