I hooked my GoPro to my downrigger ball and cruised around the lake last night. I was surprised at how many fish there were swimming around...even chasing my bait for A LONG TIME.
However, the clarity was terrible (murky green, viz about 6'). I didn't use any filters and no additional lighting. Does anyone here have any suggestions on how to make the GoPro work a little better underwater?
I was fishing at 23' deep on a bright day. I ran my gear 2' behind the ball (just to see if I could pick up fish) and yes, we caught our limit of trout. I don't know why I have been sending my gear out 30' behind the downrigger ball this whole time...I didn't catch any fewer fish on the set up with the camera.
Is the answer some type of filter? Any experience or help is welcomed.
