Okay so i need some advice me and the kids are headed to pineview this week in the late evening and i would like to get some perch for a little fish fry but have only fished them on the ice up there. Will they be in a certain area? Certain depth? Ive always fished them 30ft deep with a ice fly off the bottom i have never fished them in the summer. Any help on techniques or location would be appreciated.

I just got back from Pineview an hour ago. The only perchy-looking returns on my FF were deep-deep - as in 45 feet.

I did find a honey hole for nice 12" bullheads, though. Could've filled the boat with 'em and they were hitting everything from drop-shot Gulp worms to small spinnerbaits. Best of all, they were reachable from shore. They were off the sandy beach just north of the Port Ramp boat docks. You could park in the lot and walk 100 yards to them. They were bunched up in 10' of water, about 100 feet from the edge.

Bait up with a 3" Gulp minnow, a Gulp wormlet - or the real thing and fish on or near the bottom. Kids will love it. (And those little cats are tasty, too!)

I used to catch them in the summer time on little white tube jigs under any type of structure. like under any docks or under the tires that surround the private marina on the west side.
