Hello there! Just discovered this forum and decided to join in. Moved to Utah about a year ago and recently moved to Saratoga Springs a few months ago.

I live pretty close to utah lake, so been trying some shore fishing down there for channel cats, white bass and whatever will hit.

I have been learning about the area, learning to fly fish and exploring the utah lakes. Fished Mirror lake, Trail lake, Fehr lake these past couple of months in the uintas. Mirror lake had some luck on worm tipped with red eggs. Fehr lake and trail lake skunked me. So far I suck at fly fishing but eventually I will catch something other than a tree branch. Been trying the provo around vivian park.

Any recommendations on some great places for shore fishing? I thought about trying Deer Creek or Strawberry but not sure of what would be an area to try out from shore. I Don't mind walking half a mile or so if needed.

Been fishing mainly on Utah lake since its close. Might try the pump station/jordan river tomorrow morning. Lake level is super low and I feel like I am fishing in a mud puddle. Caught a white bass tonight but no hits from cats for a couple weeks now. Caught a 9.5 lb cat a few weeks ago, was a lot of fun. Been using white bass pieces for bait for channels (and white bass apparently eat that too). Worms for anything else. Any suggestions on some cool places to try on utah lake would be cool too. Thanks ahead of time.

OH.. also.. Crawdads. I saw one at Utah lake but doesn't appear to be many of them. Tried setting out some traps over night in utah lake but so far nothing. Any ideas on where to go for crawdads? I heard maybe Strawberry but not sure.

Strawberry is full of crawdads, I think that is the place to hit for those. I too fish Utah Lake a lot from shore, mainly at the Pelican bay harbor. Since the lake is so low, from shore your best bets are going to be around the harbors most likely. Best of luck

Welcome to BFT! How far are you willing to drive? For some bank tangling action try starvation, settlement canyon, lost creek, Huntington north, Huntington.
