Dr Phil and I invited Spurhunter to fish with us this morning below Watts Bar dam. We were targeting white bass and hoping to catch a Striper or two. What a day this was. The best white bass day that I have ever had for size. I have caught more numbers before, but never the consistent size that we caught today. There were 5 or 6 times that we had 3 fish on at the same time.

Spurhunter managed to catch the only Stripers that we landed today. He caught 4 with the biggest at 14 lbs 12 ozs. A brute in the current on 10 lb test line. We had to chase it a little bit. emoBigSmile Spur also caught a very nice Smallmouth Bass and I caught another Smallie that wasn't quite picture worthy. emoBang emoBigSmile Dr Phil chipped in with a nice Largemouth bass early on in the game. The other species that we caught were Drum, skipjack, yellow bass.

We kept a 3 people limit of white bass and 2 Stripers and released all the rest of the fish. Oh wait. We did keep the largemouth for Wanda. Spur wanted the skipjack, but we said no. emoUpSmile All fish were caught on Foley 2" spoons in white and chartreuse colors. Spur has a bunch for sale if you are interested in doing some tailwater fishing.

4 Stripers: 2 Smallmouth Bass: 1 Largemouth Bass: 1 yellow bass: 2 Skipjacks: 1 Drum: and 101 White Bass: Biggest white bass today was 17.25 inches long. We were throwing back 2 lb fish after we caught our limit. If Dr Phil didn't have a birthday party to attend, we might still be up there yet. I took 25 pics, but am not going to post even 1/2 of them. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
