Going to Henry's Lake and Yellowstone the beginning of next month (staying at Henry's) and have never fished Henry's and only have a couple hours fishing Yellowstone. I will be fly-fishing Henry's from a kickboat and am looking for any information I can get on what I should expect and if there are any flies I should be tying. I've been wanting to fish there for years, but haven't had a chance to head up there until now.

As far as Yellowstone goes, this will be a family trip, so the main focus won't be on fishing. However, I will be looking to wet a line any chance I get. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can expect from the rivers and lakes at that time? Areas I should look at trying? Bugs to expect?

Thanks! Feel free to PM. I really appreciate any and all information!

Believe it or not my favorite fly at that time of year is the Halloween leech. I would buy Bill Schiess book on Henry's to learn the holes at that time of year. There will be fish off the state boat ramp, and the wild rose hole, hatchery.

Thanks! I'll look for that book.

As for Yellowstone, go to Blue Ribbon Flies. They will tell you where to go, and exactly what flies to use. I like the lake, along the west thumb. Pull over any place possible and kick boat out. We always do real good there.
